Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: Sushi & Stroll Summer Walk Series
Friday, September 10, 2010 : 5:30 PM to 8:30 PMCost: $7 adults, $5 children (4-17) (Museum members and children 3 and under FREE); $2 for taiko performance (optional). Reservations are not required. Summer nights in South Florida are something special, especially when they are augmented with taiko drums and a cultural backdrop that can't be beat! Add a cold drink, a breathtaking sunset and a walking path through a tranquil garden, and you've got Sushi & Stroll Summer Walks! Stroll the gardens at your own pace and take advantage of our self-guided audio tour. Excite your palette with something delicious from our own Cornell Café, indulge in some shopping at the museum store or tantalize your senses with a drumming performance by Ronin Taiko. Please note that the museum galleries are closed for these special nights.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: Sushi Stroll
Friday, September 10, 2010 : 5:30 PM to 8:30 PMWhile you’re here, explore the gardens at your own pace, excite your palette with something delicious from our Cornell Café, and indulge in some shopping at the Museum Store. Hear the roaring drums of taiko with two exciting performances by Fushu Daiko happening at each Sushi & Stroll. Fushu Daiko Performances are at 6:30pm & 7:30pm. Seating is limited and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis beginning at 5:30pm.
Cost: $7 for adults, $5 for kids (ages 4-17), FREE for members and kids 3 and under. Taiko Performance: $2 with paid admission.
Reservations are not required. -
Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: Family Fun Program; Origami For The Peace
Saturday, September 11, 2010 : 11:00 AM to 3:00 PMFun for all ages! Cost: $1 with paid museum admission. Family Fun Programs are for those who want to explore and learn about Japanese culture through hands-on arts and crafts projects designed for the whole family. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 : 2:00 PM to 3:30 PMHospice of Palm Beach County believes that there are many ways to work through grief and they invite you to take part in their Grief Workshop Series on the third Wednesday of every month. You can attend as many as you like. These workshops will take place in the Brogan Conference Room at the C.W. Gerstenburg Center, located at 5300 East Avenue in West Palm Beach.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: The History and Art of Japanse Vinyl Toys
Wednesday, October 06, 2010 : 7:15 PM to 9:15 PMJoin Mark Nagata, owner of the largest collection of Ultraman toys outside of Japan and founder of Max Toy Company, and Professor James B. Levy, a longtime collector of Japanese vinyl toys, as they talk about the influence of Japanese movie studio characters like Godzilla and Ultraman on American audiences. They will highlight the myriad of vinyl toys in these shows spawned in the 60's and 70's and their discovery decades later by collectors worldwide who appreciate them for their fantastic designs and artistry.

Dining in the Dark
Saturday, October 16, 2010 : 5:00 PM to 9:00 PMThe Florida Outreach Center For the Blind is having a unique dining experience in a world of smell, taste, sound, and texture; in total darkness! The dinner will be held at the Airport Hilton in West Palm Beach in honor of Dr. Thomas Hartig, who brought Newspapers, via telephone, to blind people across the country. The cost of the dinner will help to raise funds and awareness for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Saturday, October 23, 2010 : 12:00 PM to 3:00 PMExperience sado in the tranquil setting of the Seishin-an, The Morikami’s authentic teahouse. Observe Japanese sado by the Omote Senke tea group, an ever-changing tea ceremony demonstration rich in sensational subtleties. Involvement in the true spirit of sado harmony (wa), reverence (kei), purity (sei), tranquility (jaku) along with a sip of green tea and a sweet, will help bring a calm perspective into one’s busy life.
Cost: $5 (with paid museum admission)
Time: Noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm

Seminole Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Annual Benefit
Saturday, March 05, 2011 : 10:30 AM to 2:00 PMThe Annual Benefit and Luncheon will be held at the Sailfish Club of Florida, Palm Beach. Events will include a Fashion Show provided by Evelyn & Arthur, Door Prizes, Silent and Chinese Auctions. Through our benefit we hope to raise sums needed to fund our many projects including contributions to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center Volunteer Services, homeless veterans of Palm Beach County, providing scholarships to Palm Beach County ROTC members, Good Citizen awards to participating schools, funding for DAR supported schools, and we distribute over 12 million copies of the DAR Manual for Citizenship.
