Obituary for Mr. Joseph C. O'Hara

Joseph C. O’Hara, Sr., 73 years old, of Lake Worth, FL, died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 due to complications from a stroke, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Vestal, NY, a son of Vincent and Beatrice O’Hara, Sr., he was a resident of the Palm Beach area since 1944. Mr. O’Hara graduated from St. Ann High School in West Palm Beach, Class of 1954; and attended Spring Hill College. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Vincent J. O’Hara, Jr. (Marge) and Mary Deveney (John).

He is survived by five children, Joe O’Hara of Lake Tahoe, CA, Christine O’Hara Tremblay of Salem, NH, Helen O’Hara Harding of Lafayette, TN, Tom O’Hara (Liza) of Carson City, NV, and Amy O’Hara Raymond of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Briana and Michaela Tremblay, Sean and Matthew Harding, and Nicole Wilson (Tim); and three great grandchildren. Additional survivors include seven siblings, Nan Jacobi (Bob) of Buffalo, NY, Bernie O’Hara, M.D. (Dot) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Ellen O’Hara Geary of North Palm Beach, FL, Joyce O’Hara Werner of Greenacres, FL, Tim O’Hara, Esq. (Shielamae) of Chicago, IL, Julie Bauer (Milton) of West Palm Beach, FL, and Mike O’Hara, M.D. (Judy) of Stuart, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 144 North County Road, Palm Beach, FL 33480, with Rev. Francis J. Lechiara, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joseph C. O’Hara, Sr. to: St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, Inc., 901 45th Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Please designate “NICU” in the memo (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
